 About Intact Therapeutics:

Intact Therapeutics is venture-backed, seed-stage pharmaceutical startup developing smart gels for local drug delivery to the gut. The company is based on technology developed at Stanford University, and is backed by Stanford, Y Combinator, as well as a large pharmaceutical company. The company leverages advanced hydrogel materials to improve the ways drugs are retained and absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract to improve the treatment of digestive diseases. The company’s first target is ulcerative colitis, a form of chronic inflammatory bowel disease with over 1 million patients in the US.  

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Conduct preformulation studies such as determination of solubility in various solvents, compatibility of excipient/s with API

• Execute formulation development and characterization work such as pH, rheology, particle size analysis

• Provide formulation analytical support

• Conduct development stability studies and manage samples

• Prepare buffers and other preparative solutions

• Set-up experiment design and conduct experiments

• Data acquisition, compilation and presentation of work in group meetings

• Think critically and creatively, and is able to work independently  

Qualification/Skills required:

• Self-motivated and organized

• Good communications and writing skills

• Good problem-solving skills     

Majors preferred: Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Material Science, Biomedical engineering, Biochemistry.
