SANDBOXAQ
About the start-up
SandboxAQ is an innovative enterprise SaaS company at the forefront of technological advancements, seamlessly merging the realms of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum technology to tackle some of society's most formidable challenges. The company’s core team and inspiration formed at Alphabet Inc. In 2022, SandboxAQ transitioned to independence under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jack Hidary, with former Google CEO Eric Schmidt assuming the role of Chairman of the Board. The company utilizes quantum sensors, capitalizing on the inherent instability of quantum states to detect and interpret minuscule alterations in the physical world. These alterations encompass a wide range of phenomena, including motion, electric fields, and magnetic fields that would otherwise remain imperceptible.
The company's distinctive approach involves combining quantum sensors with advanced AI algorithms, leading to the revelation of insights that were once considered unattainable. SandboxAQ has directed its pioneering technology toward a diverse array of critical fields, including medical imaging & diagnostics, navigation, and other areas with profound societal impact. Their unmatched team, along with their deep ties with quantum leaders in academia, industry, and government, make SandboxAQ uniquely positioned to develop quantum sensing applications.
The company is developing a groundbreaking cardiac imaging system, called SandboxAQ Magnetocardiography Device (SandboxAQ MCG), designed to support and empower medical professionals to make accurate, rapid decisions, identify life-threatening conditions, and expedite emergency case triage for improved patient outcomes. The first unmet need to be addressed by this device is to rule in/out acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in patients who present to the emergency department with chest pain to improve diagnostic speed and accuracy.
The Opportunity
The overarching objective is to advance the research & development efforts of our Magnetocardiography (MCG) product. Based on the candidates’ domain expertise, the project(s) that they will be engaged with include:
● Design, prototype, test, iterate, and document the MCG hardware system and its components.
● Create simulation tools, models, and analyze the experimental and clinical data.
● Research, define, conduct user interviews, draft & validate user requirements. We want to create a product that seamlessly integrates into clinicians’ workflow. Thus, it’s critically important that we fully understand our user requirements.
● Design, conduct, and present healthy volunteer experiments that are designed to test the performance of our MCG device, test new features.
