SWAZA
About the start-up
Swaza is an advanced drug delivery and regenerative biomaterials company that leverages cutting-edge AI tools, nanotechnology, and theoretical and applied chemistry to develop next-generation life-saving solutions. Our first product, SWAZA‑1, is a nanoparticle-based oxygen therapeutic designed to deliver concentrated oxygen and remove CO₂ even through damaged or fibrotic lung tissue—offering a non-invasive alternative to mechanical ventilation for conditions like ARDS, pneumonia, and smoke inhalation. Swaza’s broader mission is to transform respiratory care, trauma medicine, and wound healing through innovative materials and intelligent delivery systems.
The program, in collaboration with Swaza, offers one student the opportunity to work on one of three available projects (see below). Only one applicant will be selected.
