OneSkin

About the start-up

OneSkin is a longevity company committed to extending the healthy years of life and helping people age at their best. Our team of researchers and entrepreneurs is fascinated with science and living life to the fullest.

OneSkin is the first company to grow human skin tissues in vitro that undergo the aging process. We have also identified biomarkers that can be accessed for measuring the success of a given intervention, and we have validated a new molecule selected by our screening platform, confirming their ability to reverse/prevent aging. This molecule reduces 25-50% of the aged cells (senescent cells) in the testing models. Our solution was designed to perform the whole discovery and validation processes of novel age reversal molecules and accelerate their translation to the clinic. OneSkin brought to the market the first product in the skincare market with a senotherapeutical approach, and it’s increasing the knowledge on reversing skins’ biological age.

The Opportunity

OneSkin is looking for a Bioengineer to join our R&D team. We want to understand how cell reprogramming technologies can promote skin rejuvenation and decrease skin biological age.  We are looking for an intern to help with the optimization and validation of using Yamanaka factors to promote skin rejuvenation in 3D skin models.

The research scientist will be responsible for cell culture and growing 3D aged skin models. The candidate will perform in vitro assays to evaluate cell transfection of Yamanaka factors. Optimization of concentration and time exposure will be performed. The assessment of skin rejuvenation will be done by evaluating the skin morphology, gene expression and biological age. The intern will also help with lab organization and documentation.

The findings from this project will help guide OneSkin next therapeutical technology to promote skin rejuvenation

Primary responsibility

  • Cell culture maintenance

  • Cell transfection

  • Building 3D skin models

  • Analyzing skin rejuvenation profile.

About you

It is expected that the intern function well within a team setting, be able to complete tasks on time, and communicate well with company management.

The ideal candidate will have a B.A in bioengineering, cellular biology, or similar program.
