Professor Mark Cannice will talk us through the history of Silicon Valley and why it remains one of the most innovative and dynamic environments and why it is the place where more than 50% of all venture capital in the US is located. He will share his thoughts on how to successfully start a company and the advice that he has received from Investors and Venture Capital groups – and how this has changed after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Professor Mark V. Cannice is an internationally recognized scholar, teacher, and speaker on entrepreneurship and venture capital. He is former Department Chair and currently Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation with the University of San Francisco School of Management. Professor Cannice has advised and lectured governmental organizations and universities from Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America on entrepreneurial education, given keynote addresses to CEO/CTO, attorney, and private equity manager audiences, and has been a Visiting Professor with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Peking University - two of China's top universities
